Anyone lucky enough to have attended Bank Street's Got Talent on Friday evening knows what a fabulous show it was! We thank the hardworking volunteers who made it happen: producers Sujin Kim, Kheil McIntyre, and Bennett Windheim; emcees David Beach, India Williams, and Charlotte Drake; crew members Don Burroughs, Carol Johnson,Stan Brimberg, Elizabeth Brimberg, George Chinsee, Michael Dermansky, Melle Powers, and Jennifer Woodruff; Bank Street staff Erika Blumberg, Coy Dailey, and Lizzy Denning; and pre-show pizza party organizer Lisa Homa. Bravo!
The annual Project Cicero book drive takes place Monday, March 5th through Thursday, March 8th!
Project Cicero is a citywide, non-profit book drive designed to create and supplement classroom libraries in under-resourced NYC public schools. Since its inception in 2001, Project Cicero has distributed 3.25 million new and gently used books to more than 20,000 classrooms, reaching over 700,000 students. Bank Street has been one of Project Cicero's most generous relied-upon donor schools every year. We will have boxes in the lobby labeled and set up for collection on these days. Please help by donating new and gently used hardcover or paperback books for pre-school through high school students, including fiction, nonfiction, picture books, early readers, reference, math/science, and test prep. Please no textbooks, adult books, library/classroom discards, out-of-date non-fiction or reference books, or books not in gently used or new condition! This year, in addition to collecting books, Project Cicero has also published on Amazon Wish Lists of books that are in great demand but little supply. Amazon will automatically ship all books purchased off these wish lists to Project Cicero: http://bit.ly/PCicero2018 This year we're adding a new activity to the Bank Street Benefit — a Wine Pull!
A Wine Pull is a blind drawing where every participant wins a bottle of wine. You can help us make the Wine Pull a success by donating bottles of wine valued at $30 or more by Wednesday, February 28th. Wine may be dropped off in the lobby at the Benefit table each morning, or you can bring your wine donations to Kristen Worrell in Room 300 (near the window). To take part in the Wine Pull at the Benefit, simply purchase a bottle of wine (wrapped so you can't see the label!) for $30. You could win a bottle valued at $30, or you could win one that has a much higher value. Try your luck knowing that every Wine Pull purchase is a winner! |
