Please donate your gently-used books to the 8th grade Book Sale! Adult and children's books are welcome — but please no text books. The 8th graders will be accepting book donations in the lobby through Tuesday, May 1st.
Books will be on sale in the lobby on Wednesday, May 2nd and Thursday, May 3rd, before and after school, and before the musical, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. There are also bake and snack sales planned for those dates, as well as for today and Thursday, April 26th, at drop-off and pick up. All proceeds will go toward the 8th grade's graduation party and class gift. In honor of Earth Day on April 22nd, the Green Action Task Force will be collecting bottle caps in the lobby beginning this week. Plastic caps are one of the most frequently found forms of trash on beaches and in our oceans, harming marine life. At the end of the school year, the bottle caps will be sent to the Preserve Products "Gimme 5" program to be made into new items like toothbrushes and plates.
The SFC's Affinity Groups & Parents Association invite the Bank Street community on Wednesday, April 25th, to a screening of the HBO documentary, A Family Is a Family Is a Family: A Rosie O'Donnell Celebration, directed by SFC parent Amy Schatz.
Light fare and refreshments will be served from 6:00 to 6:30 pm, and the film will begin at 6:30. From 7:10 to 8:00 pm, April Dinwoodie, a nationally recognized thought leader on adoption, will facilitate a post-film discussion. Find out more here. |
